12 Red Rose Things I Love

I was up earlier than my fiancé a few weeks ago, and decided to take a trip to the grocery store to get some items to cook breakfast. While I was at the store, I saw a bouquet of red roses and thought it would be a nice gift to go along with breakfast. After purchasing everything I drove home, and on the way I thought of the perfect idea:

Take some leftover ribbon and tie a piece around the stem of each rose. On each ribbon I wrote one thing that I loved about her. They were:

...the way you smell, the color of your eyes, how we fit together like puzzle pieces, your smile, your grip, your sense of humor, your style, the way you walk, your laugh, your sarcasm, your openmindedness, and you.

I knew that breakfast had to be just as good, so I cooked her some eggs, bacon, hash browns and a bagel with cream cheese. I put it all on a tray with the best vase in the house, empty. Then I brought it in to her.

When I opened the door, I turned on the radio to our favorite song and woke her up by singing the lyrics in my best singing voice. She asked why there was an empty vase on the tray. I just smiled and put the red roses in the vase. I said "12 things I love about you."

When she saw them, tears of joy ran down her face and from then on, I knew we'd be in love for a very long time.
