Anniversary Nova of Love

Nearing our sixth anniversary, I was pregnant with our first child. A little girl; I was ecstatic! My only car was a stick shift, and I was unable to drive it due to my ever-expanding belly.

On our anniversary, Devon told me to get ready and I thought we were going out to dinner at our favorite restaurant.

We got in the car and he started driving the opposite direction. When I opened my mouth to question, he just shook his head, softly.

We finally arrived at an old house with a barn, off in the woods. I looked around excitedly and saw nothing out of the ordinary. An older gentleman came out and Devon hurried over to talk to him. He motioned for us to follow.

We arrived at the barn and, when he opened the doors, it took my breath away. Standing there was a beautiful dark blue 1976 Chevy Nova. It stood proudly in front of us, perfect in and out in every way!

My heart soared. I couldn't wait to get in it and go. With the wind through my hair, I knew this was love!

D and I have been together many years since, but this is the gift that stands out. It was a perfect surprise mixed with unmatched thoughtfulness. I was comfortable driving during the rest of my pregnancy, and my blue beauty still stands proudly out front.

I plan to hand the Nova down to our daughter when she is pregnant with her first child so she can feel as safe, secure, and loved as I did.
