Artistic New Years Resolution For Kids

My son has the talent of painting. Last year he made a New Years resolution to make and sell handmade paintings, and use the money to help our family. I had not realized he saw our financial situation and wanted to help.

I was a surprised and proud mother! My son is only 14 years old.

With all his talent and skills, he started painting every free moment. Between his classes and studies he painted. He started doing paintings for the school, where they framed his pictures and decorated the office walls. Then teachers started giving him orders for paintings, which gave him an idea.

He came to me proudly one day and said he could sell pictures to the teachers to earn money. But I refused, and explained it was an honor for him, and the paintings should be gifts.

But that gave me an idea. I started offering his paintings for sell on the net. Soon, he began to sell a few pictures. This money I deposited in his account, as it belonged to him.

One day he got a call from the local university. They offered a grand chance to display his paintings at the university for ten days, at the start of the new year. He was on top of the world that day, and we celebrated by going out to dinner!

I am hopeful to see where my son's talent and hard work will take him. I am sure his New Years resolution will make his future more bright.
