Fathers Day Reunion Poem
by Tiffany
When I was little, my mother and father went through a messy divorce. I lost contact with my father. Although I did not know it while growing up, he had searched unsuccessfully for me for years. One day, an old friend of my father’s recognized me at a local restaurant. He knew where my father had moved, and told me that he had been looking for me for a long time. He put me in touch with my father. We chose Fathers Day for the first time to see each other after our long separation. We met in Napa, Florida, at the beach where we had vacationed as a family when I was little. It brought back happy memories, and it was almost as if no time had passed. I felt I was still daddy’s little girl. As we did so many years before, we swam all afternoon, then went for an ice cream cone on the way back to the hotel. Since that reunion, we meet at the same place each year and spend Father’s Day together at the beach. Today our relationship is strong, and no matter how old I get I will always be daddy's little girl. Fathers Day Reunion Poem
