Funny New Years Resolution, Crossdressing?
by Steve
Last year's pledge was the funniest New Years resolution for everyone but me. The party was simple, just a few friends from the neighborhood getting together to bring a quiet end to a difficult year. There were a few creative ones, a few familiar ones, and when my turn came I tried to provide my old standby of losing weight. Apparently this has been my resolution of choice for one year too many. I was immediately chastised for being unimaginative and making the same old resolution which I never followed through on. Quite honestly I do not know how the next sentence popped out of my mouth, but it did. Impulsively, I announced to the group that if I had not lost 20 pounds by my daughter’s last day of school in May, I would wear a dress to pick her up. This quickly got everyone’s attention, and for a minute there was stunned silence. I was also at a loss for words ... there was no way to take it back. The next morning I learned that my pledge had one surprising twist. My daughter was the biggest fan of my weight loss resolution. She wanted to make certain that her dad did indeed lose the weight so she (and her friends) did not see me in a dress. As the months went by I received a ton of “support” from friends and relatives, all due to the vow I had made. My favorite was the two cheeseburgers wrapped in a nice chiffon scarf left in our mailbox. My willpower held: I did not eat them. The weigh-in day arrived. I had lost 25 pounds! One year later I have managed to keep the weight off, so in addition to giving everyone a good laugh I am also a little healthier. Finally, this year I have a new resolution. So no matter what, I will not have to visit the women’s wear section of my local department store any time soon :)
