Indian Ethnic Groups, a Brief History

Over one billion people live in India. They belong to over two thousand ethnic groups, speak four major families of languages, and belong to every religion in the world.

India's major ethnic groups include the Telugus, most widespread in range and language, Punjabis in the northwest, Bengalis on the east border with Bangladesh, Tamils on the south coast, Malayalis on the southwestern coast, and Gujaratis on the northwestern coast.

Indians may be the most diverse population on earth in terms of cultural and genetic heritage. No doubt, fascinating stories abound! Do you have one?
