Inspirational Best Friendship Poem

The story of meeting the very best friend that I`ve ever had begins in spring 2008. I had been spending time online, playing an internet game with my sister and some friends. I have always been very sociable, so I wanted to meet some of the other players who were online with us.

And so I met him! We connected right away, and spent hours talking, joking, playing games, enjoying each other`s company every day.

Although I liked him a lot, I wasn't ready for a relationship just then. So we became good friends.

That summer he came to visit me in my home country, 3000 miles away from where he lived. We had never met in person before, but we hugged and felt a closeness at first sight.

We spent the summer getting to know each other better, taking walks on the beach, relaxing in the sun, seeing movies and concerts together. We were inseparable.

When summer came to it`s end, he had to go home. By then we knew that our friendship, and the love that grew from it, was strong enough to withstand the burden of distance.

We were right. No matter how far apart we were, we never allowed more than 2 or 3 months between visits. And each time we became closer.

After a year and a half, we knew that we never wanted to be apart again.

He proposed to me on a cold winter day, but it felt like spring in my heart. With a dozen red roses, a beautiful ring, my best friend and the love of my life beside me, I knew it was all I would ever need.

In Love With My Best Friend

You came into my life, I didn`t expect it.
I wasn`t quite ready but I couldn`t escape it.

You were here to stay, and soon it was clear
every day and every minute I wanted you near.

We shared our secrets and we shared our stories.
You were always there to help with my worries.

With miles between us we were never apart.
You were always near me, locked inside my heart.

Two years have gone by and I don`t want this to end.
I want to spend a lifetime in love with my best friend.
