New Years Remembrance Poem
by Michelle
When I was a child my mother made the same New Years resolution every year: "I am going to lose twenty pounds," she said when the clock struck midnight. "No more junk food in this house!" she exclaimed. After the first couple of years we learned that by the following Friday we were eating our Friday night sundaes again. Although resolutions made at the start of the new year are meant in earnest, most people do not follow through with their plans. So I prefer to think of the New Year as remembrance of the past ... remembering the good without dwelling on the bad. I like to remember the joy of what I did accomplish, the happiness I felt, and the people I shared those times with. New Years Remembrance Poem
