New Years Wish Poem

New Years isn't so much a holiday to me, but a necessary routine. Like spring cleaning, it's a good time to clean yourself up: your image, your self-respect, whatever you want it to be.

I like to spend New Years with the ones who matter most to me. At the stroke of midnight I have the woman I love in hand, the most important people in my life, as well as a new friend or two. And for luck, a little money in my pocket.

One New Years Eve not too long ago, we ran a LARP, a Live Action Role Playing game. That's not a typical New Years Eve celebration, but we had just finished work on a new game system for the Call of Cthulhu RPG. And to celebrate, we played new characters and tested the system.

That's where the concept of New Year's resolutions comes from ... a time of inspiration, where everything can be better. And you strive to accomplish things you haven't done before.
