Original Thanksgiving Poems
And Thanksgiving Short Stories

"Readers share Thanksgiving poems, stories, traditions, and photos."

How will you celebrate Thanksgiving this year? Will you:

  • serve Thanksgiving dinner at your house
  • travel a great distance to visit family
  • go to a relative's home for dinner
  • go to a restaurant for dinner
  • carve the turkey
  • watch football
  • eat too much

What humorous things have happened at your family gatherings on Thanksgiving? Can you share your memorable Thanksgiving short stories or family bloopers (have a photo?) for others to enjoy?

Thanksgiving poetry is easy and fun to write ... here's an example:

Thanksgiving At Grandma's House Poem

At Grandma's house on Thanksgiving day, favorite delights are underway.
Fragrant cinnamon, ginger, spice, delight our senses, Oh, so nice!

Aroma of the roasting fowl, throughout the house our stomachs growl.
Brother, sister, cousins all, look forward to this day each fall.

The kids in Grandma's great big yard, play stickball, tag, and run real hard.
Our Dads and Uncles laugh and cheer. Football's starting, bring the beer!

Moms and Aunts and Grandma busy... basting, tasting, stir till dizzy.
Halftime's coming, set the table! (DVR it if you're able.)

Hustling, bustling, take your place, in time for Grandpa to say grace.
A hush descends, we breath a "Sigh!" And eat until there's no more pie.
